Comprehensive workshop gives selected young singers ages 15-32 an opportunity to prepare the complete operatic scenes from:

Rossini “Il Barbiere di Seviglia"
Verdi “Il Trovatore"
Gounod “Faust”

The workshop will focus on:

  • the background of the role
  • the use of the body and voice in the interpretation of the character
  • the psychological motivations of the character
  • the use of language to convey the character
    with an emphasis on diction
  • acting and singing
  • stage presence
  • stage fears 
The program culminates in semi-staged performance with piano of selected scenes.

Auditions will be held at Buffalo Seminary on April 21, at 3.30PM.

Singers are encouraged to sing arias from operas of the upcoming workshop
